Buying Process

In order to provide you with the highest quality service in the fastest manner, we constructed 8 simple steps to follow to buy your new home:

1. Decide on your price range

Use the help that a mortgage broker can provide to ascertain what mortgage amount you qualify for. We work with several excellent, friendly, brokers and would be happy to provide you with their contact information.

2. Choose which home option works best for you

Would you prefer a standard home with a yard for pets and children? A modular home in a park that offers a friendly neighbour community? A condominium unit with security and no exterior maintenance? Or, bare land that you can develop all of your home and yard dreams on? I would gladly discuss the pros and cons of each option with you!

3. Begin a working relationship with a REALTOR® you are comfortable with

You should feel confident that your real estate professional has experience and quality client services that you can benefit from. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about the market and the process of purchasing a property. We welcome your comments and will take the time to reduce the stress for you; I believe buying your new home should be fun!

4. Find out what is for sale

We will book appointments for us to view homes so you can get an education about the Powell River market. You will visit a variety of neighbourhoods and get a feel for what works best for you.

5. Make an offer

Now that you have seen a variety of real estate options you can feel confident with your decision to offer on the one that is right for you! We will prepare the contract for you and ensure that you understand what you are signing. We will include subject conditions to allow you the time to fully research your purchase before you make a commitment. You will never find yourself in a contract that you do not want to be in.

6. Do a home inspection

It is important to check out all the fundamental features of your new home to avoid unpleasant surprises and costly repairs. We can put you in touch with experienced, licensed, home inspectors.

7. Close the deal!

Have your lawyer or notary transfer the title into your name, purchase home insurance and finalize any paperwork. We will outline for you step by step what needs to be done and when so you will not be overwhelmed. We will help you stay in full control throughout the transaction.

8. Move In!
